An accomplished attorney with over 17 years of legal experience, specializing in real estate, corporate
and securities law, Sheryl Stephenson is a pivotal part of the Colonial Title team. As co-founder of
Colonial Title, she lends her expertise in overseeing
legal/compliance, strategic planning, licensing and
accounting for the company. As an attorney, Sheryl is an
invaluable resource in the title industry. Sheryl's
involvement adds an extra benefit to Colonial Title
clients and customers. Her expertise is crucial
throughout the title process, being available to
navigate through even the most
difficult title issues.
In addition to her duties at Colonial Title,
Sheryl also is the Managing Member of Crown
Plus Management Co., LLC and Owner of her name-sake law firm Stephenson Legal
Services. Earning her bachelor's degree in finance from the University of North Texas
in 1986, Sheryl went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore in 1992. Before founding Colonial Title, Sheryl was a Partner at Shapiro, Sher, Guinot & Sandler, a mid-sized law firm in Baltimore, MD. In addition to her law firm experience, she has founded several other real estate-related companies, bringing a diverse mix of experience to Colonial Title. Sheryl has extensive knowledge in computer and database management for title processing, document preparation and managing day-to-day operations of a title company. She also has several years of teaching experience, presenting the "ABC's of Inc's and LLC's" and the "Nuts and Bolts of Incorporations in Maryland" for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers. Sheryl is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and the American Bar Association and was also a board member of Hands on Balitmore from 1998 to 2002.
